Dear Kids,
You are my dream come true. Each one of you came into my life at the right time, bring the right amount of challenge, love and acceptance to keep me balanced. You build me up when I’m feeling small, you make proud with each problem you tackle, and you make me laugh with a sense of humor that only our family would understand.
From the moment, I learned you were growing inside my belly, I was in love with you. That love grew more the first time I held you in my arms and counted your cute ten little fingers and toes. When you began to call me “Mama” (not Mommy or mom), it was the sweetest thing I have ever heard. Although you may drive me crazy and over use the word, secretly I get a warm fuzzy in my chest every single time I hear it.
You may not be babies anymore and we may have our challenges, but I love watching you grow and mature. Knowing that you feel safe enough to tell me your fears, open enough to still kiss me in front of your friends and believe in me enough to mature in to a respectable person, brings me a joy you can’t imagine. I love the deep conversations we can have, the crazy things we do and time we spend together.
I’m not perfect and I hope you know that. Sometimes I get mad, yell or overreact when you do something silly. Please know that its me, not you. No matter what you do, I will always love you and be here for you. This day may only come once a year, but I feel like I celebrate it everyday. I am blessed to have given birth to three best friends. I pray that we remain close and enjoy each others company for many years to come.
