Guest Post from Aunty K and Mr. G!
I have a 2 year old son and small vehicle. One of our greatest challenges has always been lack space to accommodate the vast amount of products needed for my child when traveling. It’s quite a pain to have multiple items to do the job of one, but never work for the same situation. We have a great stroller for walks, but it huge and multiple pieces when folded. He has a transitional tricycle but with a long handle and big body it doesn’t fit in our trunk. Then we were asked to try out the smarTrike 7-in-1 folding trike. I had heard of a lot of trikes that changed while the child grew but had never come across this one. When we took it out of the box I was completely shocked at the size of it. The whole trike fit into a bag that looked the size of small carry-on bag. I was skeptical at first thinking that it would be flimsy and not as great as our other trike but eager to test it out.
Straight out of the bag the trike was almost assembled. Like a stroller, you just had to unfold and click into place. Then simply add on the wheels with a simple push and click and finally add the drink/snack tray. The trike was very nice looking. I was impressed with the very soft and padded seat, that as an added bonus was removable and washable. The handle bars are padded with foam making them easy to grip, yet comfortable on little hands. For sunny days there is a small canopy that would provide shade for your little one. At the back was a large open bag for your accessories and a tray for your child drinks and maybe keys or other small items. The parent handle is one piece and covered with the same comfortable foam as the handle bars.
When the parent is in control the trike is super easy to push. The ride is smooth and can easily be maneuvered with one hand. It’s nice that the handle has different heights for different people, especially my little guy who loved to push it around!
We slowly moved through each stage to see what the trike would look like. It was fairly easy to transition through each step with the use of buttons to remove parts, or switch them to change their function. To get it trike set for each stage did require the use of the manual and was slightly tricky at times, but nothing that would be difficult once used a few times.
The trike is initially set up for 9M+ with a leg rest, canopy, high seat back with seat belt and bar around the waist.
The 18M+ stage, removes the canopy and leg rest and adds a foot rest below for your child.
The 24M+ stage removes the bar around the waist, and foot rest and allows the child to pedal,
while still having parental control.
The 30M+ stage moves the seat closer to the handle bars and pedals, and lowers the parent handle bar. The child is also given control of the steering and pedaling by simply rotating the front wheel and pushing a button. This was a relief as our other brand of trike was a pain to transition and required some strength and eventually the use of tools!
The final stage of the trike removes the back rest/seat belt for full independence.
This is the stage that my little guy is at now and that he loved riding. He was thrilled that he was able to climb on easily and take off riding. However I am thankful that if he gets tired on a walk or we are in a mall that I can easily switch it so that I can take control and he can have a fun ride.
There were a few minor things that we may have changed. For instance the wheels are plastic, usually this causes a lot of noise but for now it is surprisingly quiet. It would however be nice to have a little bit of rubber on them to prevent any wear. The only other problem we encountered was when changing heights of the parental handle that it was a little stiff, this could possibly be rectified by adding a little grease to make it smoother.
This is easily one of new favourite baby/toddler accessories, combining equipment , growing with my child to last for 3+ years and most importantly can easily fit into our lifestyle with the incredible compact size!
Available exclusively at Toys R Us and Babies R Us throughout Canada!
This is a must a products for parents everywhere! 1Heart1Family has paired up with smarTrike to one lucky reader a chance to WIN one!
Love this!!! Looks awesome!
Aside from the ability to use this for 3+ years (LOVE a product that has a long life!), my other 2 favourites are the storage bag at the back for bringing stuff along, and the footrests so that if little one gets tired she can rest her feet while I still push, without slowing us down. The push-trike (a trike with just a handle at the back) we have doesn’t have this option, so when her feet are ‘lazy’ it makes it very difficult for me to push – they provide resistance.
I love that this trike folds up and is easy to travel with. My toddler would love this!
I love how this trike has different age limits! I also love how easy this looks to put together. My son would have so much fun with this trike.
My favorite feature is that this grows with your child! Definitely saves on money.
I love that you can take it on for carryon! So perfect when travelling to visit family.
I like that there are parental controls while kidlet is learning/smaller, and that it functions as an independent trike once they’re older.
I love that they’ve made this new model able to fold up so small for traveling!!! It’s great that you can take it with you without it taking up all the trunk space!
I really like the 4 stages at different periods with removal of various parts as canopy bar or leg rest. It functions for four stages which is economical and also fun.
I love that it grows with your child has more then one use!!
I really like how it grows with your child for 3+ years!
So many great features about the smarTrike, but I like that you say it super easy to push.
I just totally love this new concept. Its much more fun than a standard umbrella stroller. My boys would be occupied while I shopped or ran errands, I’m sure. I love how it folds up to throw in the trunk.
I love that it is easy to take with you, would make it handy to take with you on outings and trips.
I like that it can fit into a bag, and its compact and small enough. Sounds like a great trike for kids.
I love that it’s for such a long age range
Amazing giveaway thanks

This trike looks like a wonderful stroller/carrier for mothers with toddlers. Since children grow so fast the trike changing to accommodate their size is a huge plus.
OMG! I love it! I’m for anything that will take up less space and make my life easier. That is such a neat idea and I wish they had it around when my children were younger! A great gift for my next baby shower!

That’s a neat stroller. I love how it grows with the child.
This looks like an awesome product! Wish this was around when my kids were little!
I like that it folds up
This is such a cute trike. It looks so stroller like and I bet it is so easy to push and fun for the child to ride in!
Seems like it is very adaptable, versatile and grows with the child which is great, especially since kids sometimes get very attached to certain toys more than others.
I just love the convenience & innovation of the Smartrike of how it can fold up to the size of a carry on bag! It really is such a useful feature for parents on the go!
I like the general customizability. Eg canopy on or off.. Age levels or not, thats so handy
Love how compact it is.
I’ve been eyeing this trike for awhile for my son. One of the main features that I love is that it folds! We don’t have much extra space in our garage. Can’t wait to get this for my two year old.
I love how this is a trike that grows “with” the child. Nice to have something that transitions!
being compact is important to me!
Now, this is too cute. I wish the girls were small enough where they could enjoy this again. They grow so fast. on us. – yolonda
