Halloween is a week away! Are you ready? Growing up, we use to make our own costumes. From stockings and a cape for a bat to sheet with eyes cut out for a ghost. Regardless if you make or buy your costume, one of the most creative parts is away the make up. This year, DD6 decided to put aside the princess ball gowns and superhero capes for one of the most popular scary Halloween characters: a Witch!
We decided to do a preview of her scary witch face with an easy tutorial for kids!
Kid’s Witch Make Up Tutorial
Supplies:
There are tons of different ways to create an artistic witch face. From sexy to spooky to traditional, the face you create will depend on the type of witch you are hoping to be!
For this tutorial, we used a cheap set form our local department store. It came with smudging triangles, a q-tip like brush, and face paint (red, yellow, black and green).
Instructions:
1.. Prepare your canvas. The best way to start is get all of the hair out of the way. We used a headband in combination with a pony tail to give us a clean surface.
2.. We wanted to add some depth to the witches eyes with being too dark. Our compromise was a yellow shade on the eye lids. We used the q-tip brush to apply the colouring.
3.. Once your eyes are complete, use the smudging triangles to apply the green face paint. Start at the hair line and work your way down in smooth motions.
4.. Add details with heavy black eye brows, eyelashes and a wart on nose. We added a spiderweb and spider for fun! We used the q-tip brush to draw it on. For thinner lines or more control, a black pencil would work better.
5.. Add additional make up! We used mascara to enhance her own eyelashes and lipstick to darken her lips.
6. Add accessories and your ready to go!
The problem with a full face of make up is taking it off!! A full face of green and black can be a nightmare to get off. I remember some of the paint form my childhood remaining on my face for days! This year, I have the ultimate makeup hack that every mom, woman and child will LOVE! Let me introduce you to FACE OFF.
FACE OFF is a reusable makeup removal cloth that will instantly remove all your face and eye makeup – even mascara, using only warm water. FACE OFF cleanses and exfoliates, leaving the complexion looking radiant and feeling its best! FACE OFF eliminates the need for chemical and fragrance filled soaps, cleansers and wipes that can dry out and irritate the skin. FACE OFF’s secret lies within its unique weave of ultra-thin microfibers, designed to gently lift dirt, excess oil and impurities leaving the skin feeling fresh and healthy. The microfibre technology is hygienic, effective and suitable for all skin types. FACE OFF is eco friendlier too. No need to throw out makeup wipes. FACE OFF can be reused daily for three to four months. It’s initial launch was so successful that they created FACE OFF junior for kids! It’s great for bath time, camp, removing face paint, stage and dance makeup, sweat, grime and so much more!
I could see the potential of this cloth and loved that it would save me money, as well as the planet, but I did have doubts to whether it would be able to handle CHEAP, DARK face paint!
The RESULTS speak for themselves! Face paint, mascara and lipstick came off easily with a gentle wipe! No scrubbing needed! It was amazing! It was quick, easy and effective! It’s my new favourite facial cloth! I can’t wait to try it next time I have a face caked with make up!

My biggest challenge is trying not to irritate the skin.
The biggest challenge is getting all the makeup off and scrubbing and making the face red!
I try to avoid using waterproof mascara, but sometimes have to. I always find it hard to get that stuff off without really scrubbing at my eyes. Which I’m pretty sure is not good :-0
this cloth looks super cool — mascara and lip colours can be really difficult to remove – what I love about this cloth is that it is easy to use, and good for the environment, and safe for the skin!
Getting it off without have to scrape you face hard.
I find it hard to remove kids’ Halloween or playtime make-up because normally I need to scrub to get it off, and kids hate that! This product looks like it works much better than my current method.
It is getting it all off and having her squirm so much while we are trying to get it off as I have to keep washing it off as I don’t want to use anything harsh on her face.
I find it hard to get off without scrubbing really hard and irritating my (or my kids) skin.
It not staining everything it touches – face cloth , towel , face.
