When the last door bell has rung, the candy is spilled out all over the floor and the kid’s are deep in sugar coma sleep, Halloween is officially over! Or is it? Instead of trading in the ghosts and the ghouls, why not indulge in a little fright with some scary movies on Netflix.
If the kids aren’t ready for bed, why not begin your Halloween Binge route with a family friendly movie such as:
Hotel Transylvania – When monsters want to get away from it all, they go to Count Dracula’s (Adam Sandler) Hotel Transylvania, a lavish resort where they can be themselves without humans around to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula invites creatures like the Invisible Man, the Mummy and others to celebrate the 118th birthday of his daughter, Mavis (Selena Gomez). However, an unforeseen complication unfolds when an ordinary human unwittingly crashes the party and falls in love with Mavis.
Casper – This is a movie from my childhood that I love reliving each Halloween with my kids. Casper is a kind young ghost who peacefully haunts a mansion in Maine. When specialist James Harvey (Bill Pullman) arrives to communicate with Casper and his fellow spirits, he brings along his teenage daughter, Kat (Christina Ricci). Casper quickly falls in love with Kat, but their budding relationship is complicated not only by his transparent state, but also by his trouble making apparition uncles and their mischievous antics (IMBD).
When the kids start nodding off its time for adult fun! Do you crave a spooky series like:
Stranger Things – When a young boy vanishes, the small town uncovers a mystery involving secret experiments, terrifying unnatural forces and one unusual girl. Go back to the 80’s and relive the nostalgic past in a way you never imagined.
Slasher: They tried to put their dark past and horrible secrets behind them, but a serial killer never forgets. When a serial killer is on a rampage, the police are digging through the carnage while their current victim is fighting to stay alive.
Bates Hotel: When his father dies, Norman Bates and his mother open a hotel. But Norman’s precarious mental state drives them both down a dark and scary road. Before the murders, before he was famous, Mommy knew best.
Maybe you are craving a classic scary movie! Netflix has you covered too! Here are some of my favourite flicks.
Diary of an Exorcist Zero – He opposed demons in their evil form, but his faith will be tested when he meets the very source of evil. From family trauma to the devil himself, this priest needs God now more than ever.
Hush: A deaf writer retreats to the woods for peace and solitude. When a mask killer appears in the window, he will learn that she won’t go down quietly.
Evil Dead: Guests of the cabin didn’t expect to be treated like an oyster; shucked open and soul swallowed. When a group of friends find an evil book, they accidentally release a swarm of demons.
Are you brave enough to take a tour of some of the most spook-tacular TV shows and movies on Netflix this Halloween? From kid-friendly to scared-for-your-life, I dare you to try and make to the end.
