It’s 30 degrees outside, the sun is shining brightly and unfortunately, the pollen in the air is so thick that you have your windows done up tightly. This is a typical summer day in our neck of the woods and although my son and I would love to have a natural breeze blowing through our house, our allergies don’t allow it. Allergy sufferers will do anything to minimize their runny nose, itchy eyes and constant sneezing. Even if that means keeping the outdoors out.
Most people believe that hay-fever and allergies are caused by outdoor allergens, such as trees, plants and grass. Sadly, closing the windows and turning on the AC is not always a better solution. Your indoor environment harbors its own set of allergens from dust to pet dander to mite droppings. No matter how much you dust or how efficient you are at cleaning, the inside of your house actually traps the allergens, making it impossible to avoid.
Philips Air Purifier 2000i
My son and I suffer all year long, making a solution very necessary. This year, we were introduced to the Philips Air Purifier 2000i as a solution to our indoor allergens. The Philips Air Purifier 2000i is a professional-grade air filter that automatically monitors, reacts and purifies the air – then gives real-time air quality feedback via the numerical display and color ring. A quiet unit, it captures 99.97% of particles that pass through its 3 filters system and can be controlled remotely with the Air Matters app (available on Android or Iphone).
The set up was quick! I loved getting to know the inside of the product when I installed the three different filter layers (The pre-filter, the True HEPA filter and the Active Carbon filter). Knowing that there was three layers of defense, ensured me that even the smallest particles were being trapped. Barely audible, this purifier runs as a dull fan sound in the background. I love that it continuously monitors the air and automatically adjusts the fan speed when it detects changes in particle levels. The app was super easy to install on my phone. I simply downloaded the Air Matters app on my iphone and was I provided with daily reports of the air quality in my city as well as any changes in my home.
We use the Philips Air Purifier 2000i in our open family room/ kitchen concept. It is a medium size area that is always occupied by at least once family member. It sits in the corner of the room and we barely notice that it is running. When we do happen to glance in its direction the colour ring and number gives us a clear indication of the air quality. Most days, the ring stays a beautiful blue colour, which means air quantity is good. One day, I was cooking a strong smelling meal and the colour changed to red letting me know that a lot of allergens were being emitted into the air. It took several minutes of the Philips Air Purifier 2000i running at high speed and once again the air was fresh smelling. Since its arrival, my son and I have noticed fewer allergy symptoms and improvement overall in our breathing too!
If you are looking for a way to improve the air quality in your home, I highly recommend the Philips Air Purifier 2000i!
