Guest Post from The King Game Player in my home: DH
I grew up in the eighties, back when Atari was king and games like missile command, centipede, and pole position ruled my days. I loved every minute of it, the fierce competition between my bothers and I was epic. We thought there was no way gaming could possibly get any better. Then it happened, our world was forever changed on Christmas day 1986, that’s when Santa brought our family the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Mind blown! We were consumed by everything Nintendo, we loved all the games that game with it, from Baseball to Excite Bike to Duck Hunt, but in the end only one game stood out as our all time favorite; Super Mario Brothers. This was the game that consumed most of our days. The characters, the levels, and that unforgettable music!
Today my kids are doing more on their tablets, than I ever did on my consoles. I am just trying to keep up with them and the latest game they are playing just, so we can continue to relate and I don’t become that old guy that doesn’t know anything!
Enter the Nintendo Wii U and with it the next generation of that iconic game! The Nintendo Wii U is the latest from Nintendo and combines the best of both the console world and the tablet world. With it’s unique tablet controller ds9 and ds4 can play on 2 different screens in co-op modes or battle it out like their dad and his brothers did oh so many moons ago!
Introducing Nintendo Wii U
The best part about the Wii U? Well that’s easy the newest version of Super Mario Brothers: Mario Maker. Playing Super Mario as a kid I had amazing ideas and wanted to be able create my own little Mario world. With Mario Maker that is exactly what you get to do! From chompers to tubes, to those magical bricks that shoot out coins when you destroy them, it’s all there for you to create your own enchanting Mario World. I’m not going to lie it has now become a new competition among my brothers and I, who can create the best new Mario world and who can complete it. I love that even miles away, the WiiU still brings my brothers and I together
The Wii U is such a great system for families, super kid friendly and it brings us old guys back to the days when we were the kings of gaming! This system has become a must play at every family gathering just like when I was a kid playing the NES. So if your looking for a great gift to place under the tree this year, you can’t beat the Nintendo Wii U and the New Mario Maker Game!
