December is a time for celebration. It is a time for family and friends to come together and spend time with each other. Some traditions involve elaborate dinners, others involve driving around towns looking at houses decorated for Christmas and others involve baking up a storm.
When my kids were babies I cherished the tradition of baking! I love trying new recipes, getting the kids involved and sharing the delicious results with friends and family. Unfortunately, my gluten allergy has put a real damper on the entire process. Gluten free flour crumbles to easy to create those delicate shortbread cookies and the taste is slightly off. Since I can’t use real flour (the flour powder in the air can cause a reaction too!), I tend avoid the entire baking process.
This year, DD4 was adamant that we bake Christmas cookies this year. Armed with an official looking chef hat and apron we whipped up this delicious batch of Cream Cheese Shortbread cookies!
Digital Cookie Exchange Recipe: Cream Cheese Shortbread cookies
Recipe adapted from: Cookies and Cups
This recipe was delicious! The only problem is we had to chill the dough for 2 hours in between making the batter and rolling out dough. While we waited for our dough to be ready, we killed time by enjoying some Christmas shows on Netflix. Here are a few of our favourites!
I hope you enjoyed my contribution to the Digital cookie Exchange, I would love it if you shared your favourite Christmas cookie recipe and Netflix Show for your chance to win (one of two) a six-month Netflix subscriptions to 2 lucky 1heart1family readers!!
