The more my children grow, the more that I realize that parenting is a long bittersweet lesson about letting go. Letting go of your hopes and dreams to selflessly encourage others. Its about letting go of your wants and needs and putting your families wants and needs first. Its about letting go of each “first” stage in my child’s life and begin looking to the new and wondrous experiences that about to begin. Its about letting go of the past and charging into the future with all that you have. Letting go isn’t easy and can cause pain, tears, and anguish. Its like closing one door and opening another with bigger and brighter possibilities. The best way to deal with letting go is prepare your child for those moments.
When I had my first child, I was all about the “firsts”; the first steps, the first words, the first day of school. I was excited about watching him experience all of these firsts and couldn’t wait for them to happen and move on the next one. From the moment DD3 was born I have tried to find away to stop time. Savored every moment from her steps at 18 months and her first word (daddy – traitor! I thought us girls would stick together) because she is my youngest and I knew we wouldn’t get to experience these “firsts” again. Unfortunately, I didn’t find away to stop time and even though I cling to each special moment, time rushes on at warp speed. This September, I will be shopping for three kids for back to school as I send my daughter off on her first day of big school.
Going to school for the first time can be overwhelming and scary. To make letting go easier this back to school season, I am arming DD3 with Oliver’s Labels. I was tired of my two older boys losing there things at school. A hat here, a sweater there, and for some strange reason, DD9 always loses 1 shoe!?! I (See review from last year HERE) Last year, I got fed up and decided to label everything! It was my first time using Oliver’s Labels (normally we use black magic marker!) and I was amazed! The labels lasted all year long! Bus tags on their backpack normally only last a month and then have to be replaced. The boys bus tags from Oliver’s Labels were so durable, they can use the same ones this year! Shoes tags didn’t wear off with sweaty feet and repetitive shoe changes and the clothing labels were washed weekly without fading. When I began to (sniff!) prepare DD3 for school, I knew I had to give her the same quality and reassurance!
Here are my MUST HAVE Oliver’s Labels for this Back to School Season:
This Package Includes (58 labels and tags):
- 20 x Original Labels
- 35 x Stick-eez™ Clothing Labels
- 3 x Mini Bag Tags
This is the perfect package for a child beginning their school career. It contains the essential labels to start labeling your child’s belongings and gives you taste of some of the most used labels. The Original Labels is a great addition for keeping track of reusable water bottles, pencil boxes and lunch tuperware. Stick-eez™ Clothing Labels are a must have for coats, baseball caps, and spare clothing. The Mini Bag Tags let your child find their backpacks and lunch pails quickly and easily.
What better way to identify your kids stuff than by putting their face on it? Photo Labels keep your little ones belongings even more organized and most importantly, out of the lost-and-found! Use them on items that go in the dishwasher, microwave, fridge or outdoors. Photo Labels stick on almost anything and stay there!
DD3’s reading skills aren’t that great yet. She recognizes letters but will sometimes mistake a word for her name if it has the same letter as her name. This label gives her a clear picture that that item is hers. It was so easy to create! I uploaded a photo I had taken on my phone and it produced a clear photo label that is made out of the same rugged and durable material their other labels are.
