Before I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, holiday baking was my favourite time of year. Whether it was planning for my office party, Christmas dinner with the family or a good old fashion cookie exchange, I loved rolling up my sleeves and whipping up something delicious! With flour in my hair, an apron to protect my clothes, a cheesy Christmas movie playing in the background and dirty dishes scattered EVERYWHERE, I would spend hours working in the kitchen. I love making cakes, pies and cookies and sharing them with my friends.
When I was diagnosed with Celiac disease my love for baking kind of fizzled out. Recreating my old recipes with gluten free flour didn’t always turn or taste good. The dough would be too dry, the cookies would taste pasty and they never looked like gorgeous like cookies I made in the past. Cookie exchanges were out of the question because nobody else cooked gluten free and nobody want to eat my gluten free treats. Disaster after disaster, took the joy out of baking and left a hole in my holiday season. Lucky for me, Glutino saw this hole and has come up with an entire line of Gluten free holiday mixes to inspire my love of holiday baking!
The New Gluten Free Holiday line
Gooey Chocolate Merry Mint (White Chocolate Mint Brownies Mix)
One of my favourite baked treats are brownies. I love the soft gooey centers and the spongy cake outside. Glutino decided to take the traditional gluten free brownie and add a holiday flavour to spice it up. Glutino’s Gooey Chocolate Merry Mint brownies combine their well known brownie recipe with a hint of mint and white chocolate chips to make this a MUST have treat this holidays season. They were so easy to make, slipped right of the pan and were as delicious as they sound!
Sprinkled Sugar Cookies ~ Snowman Buttons
Every year there is one cookie that I always make at Christmas time, that cookie is the cut out cookie. I remember watching my mom make them when I was a child and I love sharing that tradition with my children. Cut out cookies allow you to get creative and personalize the cookies for whom you are making them for. The Glutino Snowman button mix is an easy to use sugar cookie mix with decorative red sugar. I was surprised how easy it was to work with. It didn’t crumble like other sugar cookie recipes I have used and the end result was delicious!
White Chocolate Chip Pancake Mix ~ Snowflake Cakes
Everyone has a traditional Christmas Dinner planned, but what do you eat for breakfast after the presents are all opened? Glutino wants to help you start a new holiday tradition with Snowflake cakes. This light and fluffy pancakes take no time at all to prepare and are sprinkled with snowflake magic in the disguise of white chocolate chips! I am saving these to surprise my kids on Christmas morning!
Funcolour Cupcakes ~ Sprinkle Twinkle Cakes
Christmas is a holiday, a time to celebrate joy, peace and our Saviors birth. What better way to celebrate then with a cupcake! Glutino has taking a delicious, moist yellow cake mix and paired it with holiday sprinkles to provide the perfect cake for kids. My kids love when I make these cupcakes in bite size cupcakes and top them with vanilla icing and crushed candy canes!
Cornbread stuffing
Stuffing is a very important part of the Christmas meal. It is the homey, comfortable, and warm dish that leaves everyone feeling full and satisfied. It was a dish that I never dreamed of eating again. When I created my first batch of Glutino Corn Bread stuffing, I was in heaven. It was flavourful and satisfying! The perfect addition to the traditional turkey! I even took it one step further and created a delicious appetizer for a friend’s Christmas party ( SEE IT HERE!)!
Peppermint Yogurt Covered Pretzels
How could I resist dreamy yogurt with a hint of candy cane mint? The smooth velvety yogurt melted in your mouth, the pretzel provide the hint of salt and a satisfying crunch, and the mint elicited the familiar feelings of Christmas. The combination was to die for! This is one holiday treat that will accompany me to every holiday function this season!
Happy Holiday Baking!!
What is your favourite holiday treat to bake?
This product line looks great-my BFF is not able to tolerate glutin and these would be great for her as she loves to bake and of course eat 🙂 all of this good stuff
I’m glad it’s gotten easier for gluten free people to eat baked goods. I remember when no one knew the word Gluten Free and now it’s in all the grocery stores. My favourite holiday baking treat is Truffle Mice. It’s melted chocolate and oreo cookie crumbs and sour cream. You make balls and then shape them into mice shapes and add almonds for ears, candy balls for eyes and a licorice tail. Yummy!
This looks like a great line up of gluten-free baking products. The chocolate brownie mix looks great. We have the Glutino GF snack bars in our house, but I have not tried the others.
I bet those taste fantastic. They sound like great flavors.
Oh yummy!! I have seen these peppermint yogurt pretzels. I have heard a lot about Glutino! This is great for all the people who need gluten free baking products.
Oh sugar cookies, what a great way to spend a fun afternoon decorating cookies with the kids
I am not a huge fan of baking (big surprise!) but I do love and appreciate what Glutino has done. As a Food Allergy family I can relate to the challenges and upset of changing up a routine, beloved or not. Thank goodness the world is seeing food allergies, intolerances and diseases for the real pain they are and rising to the occasion ( pun intended ;-0)
Cooking gluten free can be such a challenge but all of these products sound absolutely delicious! The Funcolor Cupcakes are an especially nice addition to add some fun to the gluten free market!
