Last winter was brutal! The frigid below weather temperatures, constant ice and snow and that bitter wind. So far this year is not showing much improvement. Heard on the radio that the Farmer’s Almanac is predicting colder temperature and a longer winter! After this past weekend, I think it’s official that colder temperatures are sure to be in our near future.
Farmer Alamanc’s predictions for my area: Winter temperatures and precipitation will be below normal, with the coldest periods in mid-December, early and mid-January, and early to mid-February
I have very sensitive skin. I react to the foods I eat, the products I use, the stress I’m under and the weather outside. In summer, my eczema breaks out as a result of the warm, moist weather, whereas in the winter weather, my skin drys, cracks and flakes. If the Farmer’s predictions are true, I need to begin to prepare my skin so that it has a fighting chance to survive this winter. Being a 30-something mom, I am still trying to figure out this face cleansing/moisturizing/skincare routine thing.
Oz Naturals Skin Care Products
Here are three new products I’ve added to my beauty regiment:
Oz Naturals Vitamin C Serum – OZ Naturals Vitamin C Serum can be used daily and works well with all types of skin. The serum will not clog pores & does NOT contain harmful parabens, sufates or alcohol. This serum is thinner than our other serums and is considered to be the most bioavailable serum on the market.
When I first received the product, I was very impressed with the packaging. The bottle was beautiful and the dropper was very easy to use. The product is self is very watery. I thought at first this would mean that it wasn’t concentrated enough to achieve a difference. Luckily, the opposite happened. Having sensitive skin, I react badly to many thick creams. I think because this product was so watery and thin it did not clog my pores and cause the reactions I’m use to. Vitamin C in beauty products seem to be all the rage this season and I would say the brightening and smoothing effects that it provides is the reason why. After several weeks of using it, my skin felt softer, looked brighter and the fine lines seemed to diminish.
Oz Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum – deeply hydrate and pump skin to help diminish fine lines and wrinkles. Rich with antioxidant Vitamin C, this formula leaves your skin refreshed and rejuvenated.
I have never heard of Hyaluronic before. When I looked it up before agreeing to review it, I found out that Hyaluronic is a naturally occurring complex sugar molecule in our body that helps lubricate our skin. With constantly dry skin in the winter months, this sounded like the product for me. My initial reactions is it smells crisp and clean. It went on smoothly and didn’t leave a greasy or residue feeling. After using it for a few days, I noticed that the dark spots on my skin began to even out and the bags (thank you children!) . began to disappear. The thing you must remember about this product is this product isn’t a moisturizer. It is a moisturizer enhancer. It draws the moisture deeper into your skin. It is very important to use a good moisturize in conjunction with this! I paired this product with Boo Bamboo Anti-Aging Skin lotion (see previous review here) and I found they worked well together!
Oz Naturals Super Youth Eye Gel – The Oz Naturals Super Youth Eye Gel is an effective anti-aging eye cream that is designed to treat every major eye concern. It is hands down the best eye gel for dark circles, puffiness & wrinkles.
Whenever I read that a product claims to be “hands down the best”, I immediate doubt the claim. Every product doesn’t work on everyone. We are all you unique, have placed our skin through various amounts of damage and all have different sensitivity levels. Boy was I shocked. After one week of using it, I began thinking they may be right with their claim. When I haven’t slept enough or are stressed, it shows on my face with huge bags under my eyes. I have tried various creams trying to hide or prevent them but nothing works. After using this product, I noticed that the bags have started to lighten, m eyes don’t look as puffy and they appear wider and brighter. I can’t wait to put it through a true sleepless night test to see if it can withstand Motherhood to sick/sleepless nights!
For healthy skin this winter, feed your skin a healthy dose of Vitamin C, hydrate it with Hyaluronic Acid, and rejuvenate it with ingredients like Aloe (stimulates collagen and elastine properties) and Cucumber hydrosol (reduced anti inflammatory process). It is easier to protect it now, then repair it later!
