Two generations bond over Sofia the First: The Floating Palace
Growing up the little Mermaid was my favourite Disney movie! I love the fantasy of an underwater palace, a place where mystical mer-people lived and the idea that it is a forbidden secret that nobody has discovered before! I love Ariel’s character and her lust to live in a forbidden place. My daughter, on the other hand, loves Sophia the First. From her purple dress to her childish ways, my daughter can relate and look up to her. When I heard that my favourite Disney princess and my DD2’s favourite Disney princess were going to be in the same movie, I was ecstatic! We absolutely loved this movie. From the high stake adventures to the comedic situations, the journey that Sophia and her new friend, Oona, embark on is a truly magical one. I love how the movie reinforces the idea that even though you are different, you can still be friends.
We rate this movie 5 out 5 hearts!
If an amazing movie about friendship isn’t enough, Sophia the First: The Floating Palace came with beautiful friendship bracelets. Made out of soft fabric, it was the perfect way to bond with my DD2 as we watched the movie!
