Valentine’s Day, in my world, is a day to stop and remember your loved ones. It is a day to remember the passing of my Nanny, a day to show my kids how special they are and how much I love them, and a day to take a break from electronics, busy schedules and the hectic nature of everyday life to spend time with my husband. It is a time to connect, share feelings and a little alone time! As everyone knows, Valentine’s Day is very commercial. Restaurants book up weeks in advance, sitters are hard to come by and the price inflation is ridiculous. DH and I decided that in order for Valentine’s day to be a success,we would need to host a romantic night at home!
Of course the week before Valentine’s Day my nose starts to drip. The drip turns into stuffiness and within hours I have a full blown sinus infection. I felt awful but was determined to get healthy in time to celebrate. I powered up on ND shakes and within a few days, I was feeling better. The day before Valentine’s, DS5 seemed very quiet. He was lethargic and his nose started to run. When DS5 gets sick, he gets sick! He gets frequent ear infections, cold induced asthma and remains sick longer then the rest of my kids. Horrible images of a cranky, feverish boy began to threaten my romantic night with DH.
I rushed to my medicine cupboard determined to find a way to prevent this cold from becoming the disaster I knew it could be. My hand was on my typical children’s Acetaminophen, but heart didn’t feel right. I began reading the label and noticed that his didn’t really have the symptoms it was aimed to treat. I needed something to prevent it rather then fix it. Then I remember a new product that I was introduced to as an Orange Natural Ambassador: Cough + Cold for kids.
