Today is December 1st. As I sit here and review the list of presents to buy, cookies to bake and events to attend this holiday season, I reflect on the idea that Christmas is not about these material things, rather Christmas is about the time and memories we make with our family. I think too often we get wrapped up in the commercialization of the holidays and forget the true meaning of Christmas; Love, Family and making memories. This year, I am making a change. This year, I will still buy those presents, bake those cookies and attend those events, but I’m going to make sure that memories are made and family comes first. This year I’m armed with “25 Days of Christmas” from Simple Fun Families to make sure I stay on task!
Simply Fun Families is bringing families a chance to add some extra family time around the holiday’s. This Christmas game tradition will have your family building a new Christmas tradition into your home.
Simple Fun Families was created by a stay-at-home mom, Karen, who was desperate to savour the childhood years with her children as they speed through each day. She created “25 days of Christmas” as a way to steal time amid the busyness of our lives with a small doses of surprise and old fashioned family fun. Through a series of family tested activities and helpful tips you are sure to enjoy this unique Christmas countdown.
Inside each kit you will receive :
- 35 inspiring activity cards
- 5 blank activity cards for you to personalize with your own family’s traditions
- 25 dated envelopes for December 1st – 25th
Plus helpful tips for organizing and delivering a month full of holiday fun!
When I was first introduced to this idea, I was very excited! I love spending time with my children, surprising them with unique and interesting ideas, however time seems to slip by far to fast, especially around the holidays. With this unique kit, I sat down for 20 minutes and planed activities that would easily fit into the other holiday events we had planned. With over 25 events and blank cards to create my own ideas, I was easily able to add a touch of special family holiday fun into each day in December. Each morning, our special daily task is placed on the table and we open it with breakfast. Although we have only participated in one day so far, the kids loved the anticipation the activity brought. Fun ideas like eating a candy cane with breakfast, donating a toy to local children’s hospital or baking cookies for a neighbour, are easily incorporated into traditions we already have. I can’t wait to enjoy the memories that are sure to be created this year!
