We are down to the final week before #BlissdomCA! I am so excited, nervous, scared and full of anticipation! I know it will be a lot to take in, a lot of new faces and a lot introducing myself and presenting my brand, but also a lot of laughs and a lot of fun. Last year, I was fortunate enough to attend the conference with one of my best friends, InRdream. I felt confident that if I felt homesick, lost in the sea of bloggers or confused, I could turn to her, my familiar face, and know everything would be OK. This year, I’m flying solo. I know many bloggers attending the conference and have become good friends with them, but can they joke about my hometown? Talk about the community event happening the week after Bliss? Know about my kids school, favourite hang outs and stores to shop at? Signing up for this conference, I was super excited and couldn’t wait. But now my nerves are starting to kick in.
The great and amazing thing about the world of bloggers is we come from all over the place. I know bloggers from British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Arizona, England, ect. and the list goes on and on. The different places, different cultures and different perspectives is what makes each blogger unique, special and inspirational. When bloggers began chatting at the #BlissdomCa twitter party about where we were from, I was shocked and dumbfounded to discover that there were many amazing bloggers in my own backyard!
Pre #BlissdomCa Meet up!
Since then we have formed a #DRbloggers Facebook group and this past Friday, we had our first Durham/East GTA blogger night out at The Brock House in Whitby! It was an amazing night! The Brock House is a classy pub like atmosphere! The staff was amazing, the food was outstanding, but the best part of the night was making new friends. The ladies were friendly, welcoming and it didn’t take long to feel like I known them forever. I loved sharing blogging tips and tricks, learning about blogging friendly organizations in my neck of the woods and ways to improve my blog. The best part is many of these bloggers are attending #BlissdomCa too!
This night out was a great introduction to #BlissdomCa and I feel more confident about attending this conference and getting the most out of it! A special thanks to The Brock House for hosting us and Jenn, Christella, Marya, Jackie, Kathy, Jo-anne, and Dannyelle for an amazing evening!
If you are a Durham/East GTA blogger, we would love to connect with you too!
