If you have celiac disease or eat a gluten free diet, you know the challenge it is to find a good, familiar snack. For over 30 years, I ate regular food like everyone else, and I have come to expect certain traits when eating certain foods. For example, bread has to be moist, bouncy and melt in your mouth, crackers need to have a good crunch to them as well as a complimentary flavour for whatever dip or cheese accompanying them, etc. My husband says I’m crazy and that I will EVENTUALLY adapt to the new flavours and textures of gluten free food, but I don’t know. I HATE CHANGE!
Being a Glutino ambassador now for four months, I’m must say that this company give me hope that I can enjoy eating gluten free foods. No longer am I stuck with bread that crumbs at the touch and crackers that taste like cardboard!
All I can say is OH BABY! I’m not usually a wafer fan (even the evil gluten filled ones) but being on a diet and working hard to make a healthy lifestyle changes, wafer cookies are a nice light snack that allow you achieve your craving for a sweet without the additional fat. Plus, there is nothing better then a sweet snack with the tart of lemon! My first experience with the wafer was when I opened the package. I was surprised to be hit with the tart smell of lemon. It made my mouth water! The wafer cookie tasted exactly like a gluten wafer cookie. It was nice and light and had the right about of crispiness to it. The lemon taste was amazing. I felt like I was devouring a lemon pie! This will definitely be a cookie hidden in my cupboard when my sweet cravings over power my will power.
That crunch! That crispiness! That flavorosity! That yummerliciousness! These gluten free crackers are so good, you’ll have to make up your own words to describe them too.
Step aside salt covered cardboard, there’s a new cracker in town! I was very excited to try these crackers. Before becoming gluten free, I loved how many cracker companies were coming out with new intense flavours like crackle pepper and sea salt or roasted tomato and olive oil. YUM! When I began eating a gluten free diet, all I found on the shelf fake cheese, salt or original. Not much to be desired.
Glutino crackers were exactly what I was looking for! (They were so appealing that when my sister was babysitting my kids, she taste tested them for me!) They were crunch and crispy with a bold flavour. I love that were strong enough to withstand toppings like melted cheese or tuna without crumbling. The only thing I have to warn you about is they are a little messy. The flavouring is piled high on each cracker and it does rub off on to your fingers!
It put the Glutino crackers to the test, I whipped up the Lazy Man’s Hummus and enjoyed!
