Everywhere I look I see the familiar back to school signs. Usually, I’m one of those Mom’s who embarrasses their kids by skipping down the aisle singing “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”. Don’t get me wrong. I love having my kids home summer, but once we hit the month and half mark, they are so bored that they need to go back! Anyways, this year is different. This year I’m dreading the back to school time of year. The reason…this year my baby starts school! DD1 (who will be 2 in a few weeks) will be starting Preschool. I know it sounds young but it is only a 2 hour program twice a week. Both her brothers attended this same preschool at age 2.5 years (because they were born at the start of year) and they love it! They learn so much and have so much fun that I couldn’t not send DD1, even though she’s so little!
Letting go of the baby years is hard, but I’m trying to take this next step with a positive attitude. To celebrate, I decided to prepare her for her first year at school with a few special personalized items from ISeeMe’s Back to School line!
ISeeMe was born in 2000. When Maia’s first son was born in 1998, she was blessed with many personalized baby gifts. Although she loved and treasured each gift, she felt that the story and illustrations could be more personal and related to the reader. With an idea for a story called “My own Name” and a desire to teach young children how to recognize letters and spell their name, there was no stopping her! A favourite among celebrities such as Jessica Alba and Brooke Shields, ISeeMe has created several personalized products to inspire and express the uniqueness of every child.

I See Me! Personalized Children’s Book ~ Whether you want your child to embark on their own fairy tale, pirate adventure or world adventure OR celebrate a special birthday, holiday or the first day of preschool, ISeeME has created the perfect book for you. When I found out that they just launched a new book called “The Very Important Preschooler”, I knew it was fate! What a perfect way to prepare DD1 for preschool! This loving story shares all the joys and new discoveries that can be made at preschool. The story takes your child, by name, through a day at preschool teaching them what it means to be a VIP. My favourite part was that not only was my DD1’s name included in the story, but her name was also hidden somewhere else on each page. This made it very personal and allowed me to help my daughter recognize her name. DD1 love hearing her name in the story and was very excited to hear a story about herself. This is definitely a book we will treasure!

My Very Own Colouring Book ~ This colouring book is an interesting twist on the personalized story book. Not only is the entire colouring book a beautiful story involving your child’s name, but is also a fun colouring and activity book. My favourite part is when they devote an entire page to each letter of your child’s name. This is a great way for DD1 to work on her letters and practice spelling and recognizing her name. Another unique activity is included in the book is a page that teaches her how to writing her name. The detail put into this colouring book is phenomenal, right down to the “coloured by DD1’s name” on the front of the book. Again this is a beautifully crafted educational piece that will remain a treasure forever!
Placemats ~ These beautifully coloured, personalized placemats have many uses in our house. Of course the obvious one is at meal time. Not only does it serve as a protection from my table, but it is a great way for me to entertain DD1 with a game of “find the colour” or “I spy” while dinner is being cooked. We also use the placemat for craft time. With a little soap and water, sticky, messy crafts are cleaned up quickly and efficiently. DD1 loves tracing her name with her finger and giving each ballerina a name of someone in the family.
Lunch Box ~ This durable, metal lunch box is bound to capture many eyes when your child walks into the lunchroom at school. Not only is it absolutely stunning with bright colours and creative designs, but it is secure and provides tons of room to store all your child’s favourite lunchtime snacks. One of my favourite features on the lunch box is the chalk message board inside. My older children love it when I leave little love notes in their lunch and this makes its easier and more environmentally friendly to do so!
