Canadian winters are cold, grey and dreary. It drags my spirit down and instead of finding little chores to do around the house, I tend to find myself cuddling on the couch with a warm tea and longing for the sweet burst of spring. Now that spring has arrived, I’m energized, focus and ready to go! One of my first duties of spring is Spring cleaning. A lot of people dread doing it, but being the crazy gal I am, I look forward to it. It’s a time to open the windows, tidy up clutter that had gathered up from the various winter holidays and tackle deep cleaning that has been neglected the entire winter.
As mentioned many times before, I’m obsessed with vacuuming. If I have people coming over, if I’m stressed or if I’m bored, I vacuum. To me vacuuming has a zen like calming effect. Although I’m calmed and relaxed, I wonder if vacuuming alone is enough to truly clean my carpets. With three kids rolling and playing the carpet and a dog tracking who knows what in from the outdoors, I worry I’m not providing clean, germ free area for my kids to play.
My answer arrived at the door disguised as a box of flowers! Both my carpets and I were thrilled!
REFRESH YOUR CARPETS AND RENEW YOUR HOME
Deep-down in your carpets hides dirt and tough odours (like smoke, garlic, mold and mildew) that is left behind by your vacuum. Did you know that BISSELL and Freeze have teamed up to help you take care of the hidden dirt that vacuuming alone leaves behind? Let me introduce you to Febreze Hawaiian Aloha Carpet Deodorizing Powder. This carpet deodorizing powder clings to dirt, making the particles larger and easier to vacuum up while refreshing your carpets with the long-lasting fragrance of Febreze Hawaiian Aloha scent. Don’t be fooled! Febreze Hawaiian Aloha Carpet Deodorizing Powder is not just masking the smell but rather attacking it at the enzyme level and breaking down the smells to prevent them from coming back! All that is left behind is fresh, softer carpets!
My Opinion of Febreze Hawaiian Aloha Carpet Deodorizing Powder
I was curious to see if the product would do what it claims to do. I vacuum A LOT (at least ONCE a day), so I was wondering if I would see a physical change in my carpets or just notice a short burst of scent. The results impressed me. First, I was blown away by how great the smell was and how long it lasted. With three kids and a dog constantly running around on my carpets, I was sure the scent wouldn’t last long. Sometimes when scent is added to products like this, I find them overpowering and feel like I’m choking on the scent. I’m happy to report that Febreze Hawaiian Aloha Carpet Deodorizing Powder provide a light, airy smell that reminded you how much cleaner your carpets are without making you feel like you need to leave the room. There is one area on my bedroom carpet that my dog has claimed as his own. He sleeps their every night and you can tell. When playing on the floor with my DD1, I often get a whiff of wet dog smell. I have tried shampooing my carpets but the smell still lingers. I’m happy to report that I now no longer smell wet dog when rolling on my carpet and for that alone, I LOVE this product.
I was also very impressed by the visual effects brought on by the Febreze Hawaiian Aloha Carpet Deodorizing Powder. Having white carpets (NOT my choice, it came with the house!), I feel like I can never get them white enough. Although, the Febreze Hawaiian Aloha Carpet Deodorizing Powder didn’t make them gleaming white, I did notice a change in the colour and was very pleased with how much softer the carpet felt to the touch.
My only complaint about the product is the mess it made of my vacuum. I have an upright, wind tunnel and although I know a vacuum is suppose to be DIRTY, I found that I had to give my vacuum a through clean after using the product to ensure that the fliers would not get clogged. Since this is a product that I would use maybe 4 times a year or whenever I noticed a strong smell in my carpets, its a little thing that I’m willing to put with!
