I hate ‘neck nasties’! This is not a technical term that has tons of research behind it, but it is what I use to call the dirt, film and grime that grew under my DS7’s chin when he was a baby! Being a ‘chunky monkey’, DS7 had rolls EVERYWHERE and I loved them! He had chunky thighs, chunky wrists, a little round belly, and a double chin! His rolls paired with his constant drooling led to the build up of slobber, dirt, dust, fuzzies from his clothing, food, formula, etc under his chins. If I wasn’t constantly wiping under there, he would end up red, raw and an itchy rash. I constantly worried that if I didn’t keep under his chin clean, he would develop a bacteria or virus infection.
Recently, I discovered a company that took my fears (and that of many parents!) and created a solution! Let me introduce you to
Spitter Spatter is a children’s clothing company based out of Raleigh, NC. The company was created after co-founder Zach Schabot found that many of the children’s clothing lines on the current market were not able to withstand the wear and tear of his son. As an infant, his son (similar to mine) was a constantly drooling! Zach worried that his sons constant drooling would result in a painful rash. Worried about bacterial build up and overall cleanliness, he sought to find the ultimate solution. Spitter Spatter was born on with the idea to provide parents with an antibacterial and stain resistant line clothing for infants and toddlers that were able to combat these problems! Their mission is to help children grow, learn and explore in a cleaner, healthier, happier environment through sustainable clothing while combating more than 100+ common germs, bacteria and viruses.
How it Works

Wouldn’t it be great if you could protect your child from 100 different strains of bacteria, mold and viruses like Strep, Bird flu, E-coli and MRSA? Now you can with Spitter Spatter. Spitter Spatter clothing provides a protective layer which disrupts the cell membranes of microorganisms that come in contact with it. Its like protecting your children with an invisible armor that resists attacks from micro-bacteria 24 hours, 7 days a week.
The Spitter Spatter company was amazing to work with! They are friendly, outgoing and very helpful. Ordering was a breeze and customer service was amazing! When I first received my package, I was very impressed with how much love and care was put into the packaging of the order. What I loved about their products are there are made out of 100% Ring-spun Cotton and they are comfort and durability, ready to explore the world with your child. The colour choices are crisp, clean and fun, perfect for dressing your child to enjoy hot summer days. When I first tried the Spitter Spatter Classic Crew T on DD1, I amazed at how soft the material was. It was the kind of fabric that you would enjoy brushing up against. The t-shirt was very stretchy and very easy to put on! Being a little Diva, DD1 had a huge smile on her face when she rushed off to show her brothers her new shirt! The fabric felt so normal that I was skeptical about the special antibacterial treatment on the t-shirt, which is suppose to permanently bonds to the fabric. It felt like there was nothing there! To my surprise, the fabric worked exactly how it was suppose to. There was no odor after a sweaty afternoon nap, there was no staining after spilt milk or juice and I felt comfortable in knowing that she was protected from bacteria and virus that may be lurking in my house (she has two school going brothers! Its inevitable!). My only suggestion is that when ordering an outfit for your child, order by their sizing guide rather than your child’s age. DD1’s 2T shirt was snug and won’t last the summer. Unfortunately, I didn’t read the website prior to ordering and I didn’t order according to their sizing chart. Lesson learned! Over all, I love their products and trying to decided which ones to order for my dirt-attracting sons!
