Scenerio 1: Your children beg you several times a day to brush their teeth. When you finally say ‘yes’, the spend hours in the bathroom scrubbing each tooth until its rid of plaque and left over food.
Scenario 2: You tell your kids to go brush their teeth and they continue playing video games. Five minutes later, you remind your children to brush their teeth again. This time your children head upstairs to where you assume they are going to brush their teeth. Ten minutes later, you find your children sitting on the floor in their bedroom playing with lego, their teeth still not brushed. This time you drag your child in the bathroom and stand over them as they apply toothpaste to the brush, barely make contact with their teeth and decide that they are done. Being the creative mother that you are, you sing songs, create games and instigate brushing races to ensure that your kids brush their teeth for two whole minutes.
If your kids are anything like my kids, then you are mostly likely dealing with scenario 2. Twice a day, I remind my kids, encourage my kids, then drag my kids to the bathroom to brush their teeth. Recently, we have come up with the ‘bright white game’. The kids go into the bathroom one at a time (I learned they are more likely to do a job if not surround by siblings!) and brush their teeth. When they believe they have done a good job, they return to my presence and show me their teeth. If I feel they weren’t long enough, I say ‘meh they are ok!”. If they did a good job (and brushed for at least 2 minutes), I pretend their teeth are so bright, white that I must put on a pair of sunglasses. Corney, I know! But for some reason, this really motivates my kids to brush their teeth.

I loved the product before I even tasted it! Thrilled at the idea that it was Gluten Free, won major points right off the bat. I also loved the ingredient list.
Ingredients: Water, Organic Glycerine, Organic Sweetnol (a propietary blend of Erythritol, Stevia and Monk Fruit), Organic Flavors and Natural Color, Organic Clarified Lemon Juice.
Ingredients that I can name and pronounce was a big plus. I liked that it didn’t contain any dyes or added sugars and the lack of alcohol ensured a positive experience. Testing the product first, I found it to have a light cherry flavor and although it wasn’t sweet, the taste was much more appealing then my standard mouthwash. I liked the residue free and clean feeling of my teeth after using the product and I was excited to share it with my kids.
My kids had never tried mouthwash before and although I use it daily to maintain good oral hygiene, it took me a long time to find a brand that I could use without gagging or having it burn my mouth. Knowing that my kids do not like change, I hyped up the mouthwash before using it. We talked about the tartar and bacteria the forms in your mouth after a long day and how important it is to clean your teeth. I mentioned that we were going to try a mouthwash as an additional oral hygiene aid. I instructed them to swish the mouthwash around in their mouth, gargle, do not swallow and hoped for the best.
DS7 loved it! He did it like a pro! Using a little medicine cup, he swigged back the mouthwash, gargled and spit it out. At first he wasn’t sure he enjoyed the experience but after thinking about it he wanted to do it again.
DS5 was not a fan at all. He was expecting a sweet drink and instead got a mild flavor. Like a champ, he swished it around his mouth quickly before spitting it out.
