I was so impressed by the success of my oldest son that when my second son, DS5 came along, I knew I wanted to continue the tradition. When DS5 was about 5 months, I signed him up for his first WEEHANDS class, but I found that it was very difficult to attend the class with two children. When I attended with DS7 alone, I was able to full concentrate and engage in the class. When I attend with both sons, I felt like I was being torn. DS5 was willing and eager to participate with his classmates of his same age, whereas DS7 had already had the skills being taught and became more interested in running around. Although the course was amazing, I was unable to continue with his lessons and had to rely on teaching him myself at home. Now that I have a third child, DD1, I have even less time to devote to individual activities.
I was very disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to experience and share my love of signing with my DD1. What is the odds that there is a WEEHANDS class between 2-3 on Thursdays between DD1’s nap and bus pick up times of my other two boys? WEEHANDS understands how busy the life of a Mom can get and realizes that we don’t always have the time to attend their amazing social classes (If you can, I highly recommend it! Its quite the experience!). To prevent Moms from loosing the opportunity to share this amazing experience with their little ones, WEEHANDS has created a program that allows you participate and teach your child the art of sign language without leaving your home!
Let me introduce you to the WEEHANDS Online Classes! These classes are available to parents, early childhood educators, therapists and their own Licensed WEEHANDS Instructors to give them a chance to learn, relearn and practice their sign language skills. Signing up is very easy; Drop them a line at WeeHands Web contact or give them a call at 1-866-746-7446.
As a WEEHANDS Ambassador, I had the opportunity to experience and enjoy the ‘EveryDay Signs online baby sign language class’. I wasn’t sure what to expect and how it would compare to participating in a physical class, but I was excited at the opportunity to return in the world of sign language again. I was extremely surprised how indepth and thorough the online classes were. Not only are you provided written descriptions and photographs of the each signs, but instructional video, a community forum and tons of support. Although you may not have the physical interaction with other ‘classmates’ in class, you are still able to form strong bonds and relationships through this e-learning experience. My favourite part about the whole online experience was that I was the ablility to ‘attend’ class when I wanted, how often I wanted, and with (or without!) whom I wanted. With a physical class, it is usually held once a week on the same day at the same time. With the online class, I was able to participate in the class when the kids were in bed, at a free moment through out the day and also with my DD1 when her brothers were at school. Having three children, find a time in the day where there are no distractions is very difficult. I like the quietness of night when the monkeys are in bed to ‘study’. This program gives me that flexibility and allows me to fresh the skills I learned with my other two.
One luckily 1Heart1Family reader is going to get the opportunity to #WIN one Every Day Signs online baby sign language class!
