Get to know the Women behind the Music:
I got to ask Marlowe Stone some questions about her music, her career and how she got started:
1. When and why did you start creating music?
2. Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
When I first started writing songs I loved the piano-based storytelling songwriting styles of Billy Joel and Carole King. Their music was a big escape for me and for millions of fans. While working on One Dancefloor, I’ve found myself newly inspired by today’s best pop music creators – will.i.am knows how to get a crowd moving with a beat, a riff and a simple stream of thought. It sounds easy – but it’s really not.
3.What are your fondest musical memories?
4. What is your favourite song?
I don’t have a favourite song. Other than my own songs/babies, I do have a soft spot for Sarah McLachlan’s song, “Ice Cream”, it was my wedding song.
