Positive self esteem is one of the most admirable traits a person can hold. Self-esteem is all about how much you feel you are worth — and how much you feel other people value you (kidshealth). It is important because feeling good can affect how you treat yourself and others, how to behave in a certain situation and the choices you make. Its not always easy to possess positive self esteem and its even harder to teach it to your children. Growing up with low self esteem, I vow to teach my children to realize and reach their potential.

Thought Spots are static-cling vinyl ‘spots’ that contain inspiring messages or reminders. They can be placed on most shiny surfaces, such as your mirror, window, etc, and since they stick with the static cling function they require no adhesive! This is my favourite part! They can be reused and repositioned over and over again without leaving a sticky mess behind. Because they are so easy to use, they can replaced daily to provide a fresh, new inspirational message.
What do they offer?
Where to place them?
1. Bathroom Mirror – I chose this location because it is the first thing I see every morning! I liked reading the positive spots and felt that they started me off on a positive note for the day.
2. Microwave – This may seem like a weird spot to need a positive reminder but for me it is essential. The spot I choose for this location was “Take 3 deep breaths before reaction”. This is a good reminder for me. Every night when I cook dinner, DD1 is usually whining and crying at my feet because she wants my attention. Usually stressed the pressure of not burning my dinner, ensuring the kids are doing the homework and the guilt of not being able to give DD1 my undivided attention, I usually react in a negative way. This ‘spot’ is strategically placed to remind me to relax before reacting! I was surprised, but this simple reminder was very handy and allowed me to deal with the situation a lot better!
3. Front Hall Closet door – This spot is to remind me in hustle and bustle to leave the house, I need to remain positive and calm!
The kids thoughts:
When the kids saw the Thought Spots placed around the house they were very excited. They loved the positive reminders and requested they be placed in their bathroom and bedroom as well!
I highly recommend Thought Spots as I feel they are encouraging, resourceful and they have the potential to brighten everyones day!
