Guest Post from DH:
I have been with my wife for 17 years this June. Wow! That seems like a really long time when I write it out! From our very first date on she was very emphatic about what she wanted to be when she grew up. A MOM. There was no discussion; she knew she wanted to have kids and she knew she wanted as many as she could. I finally convinced her that 3 kids was plenty for me. It’s been 10 years now since she gave me our first son. Time has flown by and in that time she has graced us with another son and our beautiful daughter. I know this is going to sound cliche, but I truly believe that I have been blessed with knowing the 2 greatest moms anyone could ask for. My mom is the classic matriarch of our family, she is so strong and independent, and I can only hope that my daughter realizes what a role model she is and can learn to be just like her Oma. The other great mom in my life, that would be the women I am lucky enough to call my wife. She is the new age mom. She works full time (and harder then most of the guys she works with) and she is a full time blogger. Despite that, she some how manages to raise our children and give them everything they could ever want. Not to brag, but I can’t tell you how many times we have gotten compliments at restaurants about how well behaved our children are, and that is all my wife. She runs a tight ship, but still manages to find the time to laugh and play games with the kids. She is not only a great partner to me but she is a great inspiration to all of our children. I watch the way she interacts with them, stern when she needs to be, and a soft touch when it’s called for, and I know that not only is she raising good children, but also great human beings. That is what makes me feel so lucky that she choose a schmuck like me to take this crazy ride of life with. Everyday that passes we get a little older, but I am okay with that, because I know I am getting older with the woman of my dreams, and after 17 years she is stuck with me now.
