What do you think of Tattoos?
Tattoos are permanent markings in the skin made by way of ink and needles. The needles vibrate at high frequency depositing ink into the second layer of skin. When the outer layer of the skin heals, the ink in the second level of the skin exposes the design. I have always been fascinated with tattoos. I think they are beautiful forms of artwork that share a lot about person by the way of personality, history, likes/dislikes and feelings. When my middle sister turned 18 years old, we decided that we would go and get tattoos together. I though long and hard about what I want to add to my body. I knew it had to be meaningful and describe me. I also knew it had to be small and hidden, as it was art for myself, not the world.
The tattoo designed was the Leo symbol surrounded by 3 stars. The Leo sign is my zodiac sign which describes my personality to a t; Leo’s are warm, dominant and action-oriented. They are driven by the desire to be loved and admired. The three stars represent the bond between my two sisters and me.
The tattoo experience was an interesting one. Although my tattoo was little and didn’t involve much time or detail, my fear for needles became apparent when I almost passed out. Nevertheless, I am happy with results and am proud to sport it 15 years later!
Whether it is the pain, fear of needles or uncertainty of a permanent mark, actual tattoos may not be for everyone. That doesn’t mean we should be able to enjoy the artistry and meaning that tattoos display. Fatal Clothing does just that! They take tattoo-inspired artwork and uses it to design clothing, skateboards, and accessories. They use art as a meaningful way to represent your personality, beliefs, and important life events. It is a way to express your inner self to the world. Each one is a work of art that you’ll be thrilled to wear and use.
Fatal Clothing was established in 2004 as a garage built clothing company – they literally began in a family business garage over 10 years ago, where their founder Mark Atkins worked on custom cars and bikes. While still in high school, he began designing t-shirts to sell to his family and friends. His love and appreciation for artwork later transformed into the business it is today. Based in Los Angeles, Fatal represents and supports the artistic lifestyle in all forms of expression. This is the brand for the person who can’t quite find clothing and accessories to express their unique point of view in mainstream retail outlets. Today, Fatal’s reputation for providing unique artwork and quality apparel has made a lasting impression with customers.
